CAMERON HAS FIRST BIG LOTTERY WINNER

(CAMERON)   Cameron has a new millionaire.  62-year old Gwendolyn Kelley had just gotten home from a two week stay at the hospital for knee surgery, when she sent her son-in-law the Shamrock Station to purchase 7 Texas Two Step Lottery Tickets.  One of those, was the sole winner Friday night, worth $1.5 million.   Ms. Kelley, who raised 10 children, has 24 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren told KMIL News she learned early Saturday Morning that she held the winning ticket.  Kelley said she had purchased 5 quick picks on January 4th, and saved the tickets.  She sent her son-in-law to the store Last Friday with instructions to use the same quick picks for Friday night.  Ms. Kelley said she called Friday night and learned that there was one winner and the winner was in Cameron, but didn’t learn she held the winning ticket until Saturday morning when she called the convenience store and had the clerk read the numbers.  They matched!  Ms. Kelley said she is not sure what she’ll do with the money, something her and her 10 children will decide, but said one thing’s for sure, it has to be invested.  She has contacted Stewart Perkins to handle the investment.

Kelley worked for Deluxe Cleaners in Cameron for 25 years before arthritis forced her retirement in the mid 90’s.  She spent two weeks in King’s Daughters Hospital for Knee surgery and was released last Wednesday.  The winning numbers from Friday Night’s Two Step were 7-16-33-35 and the bonus ball was 10.
