2002 LIVESTOCK SHOW PROCEEDS TOP $100,000 |
(CAMERON) The 2002 Milam County Jr. Livestock Show Premium Livestock Sale earned county 4-H and FFA students a grand total of $103,072. The top animal in the sale was Cameron 4-H member Julie Vrazel’s grand champion heavy weight steer entry, purchased by the K-C Ranch for $4,417. Rainey Simank of the Thorndale 4-H Club won grand champion for her heavy-weight swine entry, purchased by the Thorndale Ag Boosters for $1,511. Tashena Hicks of the Rockdale FFA had the grand champion in the medium weight lamb division. Her entry was purchased by the Rockdale AG Boosters for $2,236. Andrew Lehmann of the Thorndale FFA exhibited the grand champion broilers, purchased by Ideal Poultry Breeding Farms of Cameron for $1206. Garrett Muston of the Rockdale 4-H had the grand champion rabbits sold to Jo Pruett of Farmer’s Insurance for $1206. Valerie Jochec of the Cameron 4-H entered the grand champion Tom Turkey which sold to the Cameron Ag Boosters for $1,517. Marshall Orsag of the Cameron 4-H won grand champion with his light weight goat entry. His project sold to First National Bank of Cameron for $1347. Reserve Champion Steer went to Julie Birkhead of the Rockdale FFA, and sold to Milano Livestock Exchange for $2696. Conner Batten of the Rockdale 4-H exhibited the reserve champion swine, sold to the Rockdale Ag Boosters for $1506. Matthew Jentsch of the Gause 4-H won reserve champion with his light weight lamb, purchased by Hearne Auto Supply for $1788. Kalynn Hodde of the Thorndale 4-H won reserve champion with her broilers, sold to Ideal Poultry Breeding Farms for $1066. Mallory Fisk of the Cameron FFA exhibited the reserve champion rabbits, purchased by Brazos Valley Sand and Gravel, and Cam-Rock for $1402. Chad Ehler of the Rockdale FFA exhibited the reserve champion hen turkey purchased by Brady’s Pest Control for $1191. John Jentsch of the Gause 4-H won reserve champion with his Medium weight goat, which sold to the Rockdale Ag Boosters for $1488. |
