Cameron A's Head to State Tournament

(Salado)  The Cameron A's, who lost only one regular season game, swept the District Tournament in Salado to earn a trip to the TTAB State Tournament.  The A's opened with a 12-7 win over the Academy Indians.  In the Second game the A's beat the Salado Mud Dogs 5-4.  The A's then faced the Salado Diamonbacks, winning 2-1.  The Diamondbacks beat the Mud Dogs to earn the right to face the A's in the finals.  Cameron won the Championship game 5-3.  The tournament was held July 15-19 in Salado.

The A's are now headed for the TTAB State Tournament to be held July 29-August 1 in Hawley, Texas, just north of Abilene.  8 teams will compete for the state title.  Opening ceremonies will begin Monday, July 29th at 4:30 p.m. at the Hawley Youth Baseball Complex.  The First game of the double elimination tournament will begin Monday at 5 p.m.

Fund Raisers are underway to help with travel and lodging expenses for the State Tournament.  Accounts have been established at all three Cameron banks.  Bake sales and door-to-door donation drives are among the fund raising efforts by coaches and players.
