Cameron Man Killed, Woman Injured in Early Morning Accident |

A Cameron man was killed early today in a 1
vehicle accident on West 12th Street. Jafus Tijerina, 20 died
while en route to Scott & White Hospital in Temple. Tijerina suffered
massive head injuries in the accident. Another occupant of the car, Tosca
Bernard is in undetermined condition at Scott & White Hospital in Temple.
Both were transported by
STAT-Air following the wreck. According to Cameron Police, The two were in
a 1995 Crown Victoria that was east
bound at a high rate of speed when Police theorize the driver lost control
after crossing the railroad tracks. The car struck a tree and flipped
over. Police are unsure at this time
who was driving the vehicle, however the car was registered to Miss
Bernard. The accident happened just after 3 o’clock this morning.
Cameron’s Fire and Rescue units responded along with Rockdale’s Critical
Unit, Cameron’s Scott & White EMS, and STAT-Air. The DPS is assisting
Cameron Police with the investigation.
 Tijerina is Milam County’s 5th traffic fatality of the year, and the 2nd here in the city of Cameron.
