Waco Man Becomes Milam's First Traffic Fatality of 2003

(CAMERON)  Milam County recorded its first traffic fatality of 2003 Sunday when a Waco man died from injuries after ramming the rear of a trailer pulled by a Milano man.  Wade Stolz was transported from the accident scene to Cameron Airport where he was transferred by STAT-Air to Scott & White Hospital in Temple.  He was pronounced dead at 7:22 p.m. some 9 hours after the accident.    Stolz was driving a Ford Explorer west on Hwy 36 at Griffin Chapel when he rear ended a flat bed trailer being pulled by a pickup driven by Will Agee, 63 of Milano.  Agee, who was also westbound, had slowed to turn left on CR 336.

Upon Collision, the top rail of the trailer punctured the driver's door ripping it from the Ford Explorer.  Part of the rail ripped from the trailer, pierced through the leg of the driver and lodged in the driver’s seat of the Explorer.   Stolz was thrown from the vehicle and was penned underneath his explorer.    Agee, and a passenger in the Ford, Kristi Lewis, 21 of Waco, were not hurt.

Fire Departments from Milano and Rockdale responded along with Milano First Responders and EMS units from Cameron and Rockdale.  Milam County Deputies assisted Trooper Michael Nix with the investigation.  Trooper Nix placed the time of the accident at 10:10 a.m.
