First Accumulation of Winter Season

(CAMERON)  Old Man Winter dusted Central Texas with an above freezing snowfall overnight, and a heavy snow flurry around mid-morning Saturday. Temperatures were expected to dip into the 20's, however remained above freezing with a low of 34 here in Cameron.  Snow however, accumulated on trees and rooftops just before dawn, with little or no ground accumulation.  Snow flurries continued through mid morning.

The moisture moved across Central Texas from southwest to northeast with little or no accumulations.  A Winter Weather advisory was in effect though, because of the possibility of bridges and overpasses becoming ice glazed.

Here in Milam County, the roadways remained clear, and no accidents were reported as a result of the winter weather.

Heavy snow flurries continued through mid-morning, however temperatures were never below freezing, and the mid-morning snow melted with no accumulation.

The snow-fall didn't slow down motorists.  No accidents were reported as a result of the winter weather. Texan Cafe employee Mary Mowdy took a quick break to enjoy the rare treat.
