FIREMEN RESPOND TO GREEN & BOEDECKER BUILDING

(CAMERON)  Cameron Firemen responded to the old Green & Boedecker building on 4th street this afternoon when black smoke billowed from all four sides of the structure.  Firemen entered the building with oxygen masks and were able to locate and extinguish the blaze.  Several piles of rubble were on fire, producing the billowing black smoke.  After the fire was extinguished, firemen used fans to extract the smoke from the building.  Cameron Police were questioning several kids that were scene near the building just prior to the fire.  The building is used by Tranum Country in Cameron for storage.  Two old cars were in the building, but were not damaged by the fire.  Firemen answered the call around 4:15 p.m.  Scott & White EMS stood by at the scene with two units.  No one was hurt in the blaze.

The highway was shut down while firemen accessed the fire hydrant across the street.
