TEEN KILLED IN AUTO/PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT

   

(PETTIBONE)  Highway 190 west of Cameron claimed another life early Sunday morning, just west of Pettibone.  18-year-old Crystal Garza was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:45 A.M. Sunday by Justice of the Peace, Twila Harris.

According to DPS reports, Garza was walking along the side of the roadway, when she attempted to cross 190 and was struck by an east bound 1989 Cadillac, driven by Buddy Lee Rawles, also of Cameron.  The accident happened around 5:30 a.m. Sunday.  Trooper David Yarborough investigated.

Miss Garza has become Milam County’s 4th traffic fatality of the year. 

Meanwhile, funeral services for Miss Garza will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron.
