First Baptist Church in Rosebud is collecting recipes for an Operation Christmas Child Community Cookbook. The church is collecting recipes for the cookbook through August, so send in your favorite recipes to FBC Rosebud at Box 12 in Rosebud. Or you can email them to rfgifts@valomet.com

August 19
St. Monica's Catholic Church will hold its annual Homecoming Festival on Sunday, August 19th. There will be a Spanish Mass at 8:00am, a Polka Mass at 10:00AM with the Country Expressions. Barbeque plates will be sold starting at 10:30 at $7 per plate(dine in or take out). Musical entertainment throughout the day with the Country Expressions and Zismo Musical. Hamburgers and tamales available until sold out. Cake wheel, country store, plant booth and other booths will be open all day. The country auction will start at 4pm followed by a huge raffle. A new attraction added this year is a giant water slide. Everyone is welcomed.

August 19
You're invited to worship with Wayman Chapel AME Church in Temple, Sunday August 19th for their family & friends day. Morning services begin at 10 a.m., with an afternoon service at 3 p.m. Dinner will be served after the morning service. Rev. U.C. Barnes of Corinth Baptist Church will be the guest speaker

August 19
Hope Lutheran Church in Buckholts will have a Drive-Thru or Dine-In BBQ brisket and sausage dinner Sunday, August 19 from 11AM-1PM. Brisket and sausage with all the trimmings will be available for $7 per plate. There will also be a Bake Sale. Matching funds provided by Thrivent for Lutherans with proceeds going to maintenance and needs of the Church. The church is on N. 10th St. in Buckholts.

August 25
Catholic Youth On A Mission is sponsoring a Texas Hold'em Tournament August 25th at Westhalia Parish Hall. For tickets and information contact in Rosebud-Richard or Rhonda Greger 254-584-1153 or 254-721-5081, in Lott-Scott or Pam Conners at 254-583-2030 or 584-2011, in Westphalia-Debbie Meyer at 254-985-2508. We need your help raising money for these youth for there educational trip.

August 26
St. Cyril amd Methodious Catholic Church in Marak will have its annual Homecominc picnic on Sunday Aug. 26th. Mass will be at 10:15am, a home-fried chicken and sausage meal will be served starting at 11 and continue until sold out. All plates will be $7. Games and booths start at noon. Entertainment from 12:30-3:30 with the Vrazels Polka Band and an auction at 4pm. Fun for all at the Marak picnic, 7 mile northwest of Cameron on FM 2269 Sunday August 26th.

August 26
Temple Brethren Church will be hosting a concert to be performed by TheTaylor Czech Chorus on Sunday, August 26 at 3:00 p.m. The program will feature a unique combination of ethnic Czechoslovakian folk music and praises to our Lord Jesus Christ. The concert will last approximately one hour or less for the comfort of those in attendance. Music will be in both English and Czech. Traditional Czech Svacina (light refreshments) will be served following the program. The concert is free and open to the community. Donations will be accepted to cover travel charges for the group. The Taylor Czech Chorus was organized in 1968 as a group of individuals dedicated to preserving the heritage of Czech music and to provide fellowship and enjoyment of this music for its membership. The Chorus meets for practice on the first Monday of each month at the SPJST Rest Home in Taylor, Texas. The group has performed publicly many times in Taylor, Granger, Austin, Waco, Dallas and local surrounding communities for reunions and anniversaries, and for major events such as the Aqua Fest in Austin and the State Fair in Dallas. The group also has several recordings available. Temple Brethren Church is led by Rev. Bill Rinderknecht and is located at 2202 Bird Creek Drive in Temple next to Luby's Cafeteria.


SUMMER LONG
Trinity Lutheran Church at 3505 N. Main in Taylor is hosting a series of Summer Concerts beginning May 13 and running through August 15. Concert dates are as follows:

On Thursday Mornings beginning February 1, a Ladies Bible Study entitled Women of the Word will get underway at First Assembly of God Church in Cameron. The theme of the Bible Study is A Life Study Group: The Commands of Christ. Books for the group can be purchased for $7, and child care is provided. If you are interested in attending, please call Beth Keen at 979-450-2940 or 512-455-6391 so she can order you a book.

Summer is ending and we will be back on track with the Lunch Bunch the first Thursday of every month beginning in September. The meeting will take place at noon at the Family Life Center of the United Methodist Church. Everyone is invited to share an hour of fellowship and fun!

Rusty and Cathy Rice invite you to Rice Ranch for Cowboy Church on Wednesdays starting at 6:45pm. Steven Schwarz will be the speaker. Rice Ranch is located 4 miles west of Rogers on Hwy 36 on the left before Heidenheimer. Those that attend may also attend the Calf roping and break away after the service for no charge. The time for Catholic Masses at Winnie L. Nursing Home is 10am each first Friday of the month.

Come check out a new non-denominational church in Rockdale. Harvest Bible Church is located in the red and white metal building next to the KC Hall on Hwy 79. Enjoy contemporary teaching with Brad Dusenberry, music with Kyle VanCleave, and always a loving atmosphere. The Wednesday service starts at 7pm and the Sunday morning service begins at 9:30am with lunch for everyone after the service. Call 254-605-0154 for more information.
