Texas two-Step Soup in
a Jar
2 Pkgs. country Brown Gravy Mix 1/4 Cup Chili Powder 1 Tbs. + 1 Tsp. Dried Oregano 1 Tsp. Ground Cumin 1 Tsp. Dried Minced Onion 1 Tsp. Garlic Salt 22-24 Tortilla Chips (coarsely crushed) 2-1/3 Cups small to medium size pasta (wheels, shells, etc.) | |
Layer ingredients in order given into a wide-mouth quart mason jar. Pack each layer in place before adding the next ingredient. Attach a gift tag to the outside with cooking directions. Brown 1 Lb. ground beef in a large soup pot. Add 14 cups water and soup mix. Heat to Boiling. Stir in 1 Can whole kernel corn with red and green peppers, and 2 16 oz. cans chopped tomatoes. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 20-25 mins. Serve with extra tortilla chips and shredded Monterrey Jack cheese. |
