Root Beer Float Cake

18-1/4 oz White Cake Mix
2-1/4 c Chilled Root Beer, divided
1/4 c Oil
2 Eggs
1 envelope Whipped Topping Mix
In large mixing bowl, combine cake mix, 1-1/4 cup root beer, oil, and eggs; beat until well blended. Pour into greased 9x13 baking pan. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes; cool completely. In medium mixing bowl, combine whipped topping mix and remaining root beer; beat until soft peaks form. Frost cake.
