RECORD RAINS HIT CAMERON, CENTRAL TEXAS

(CAMERON)  Record rains hit Cameron and Central Texas today, causing flash flooding, power outages, and stranding motorists.  A tree fell on a vehicle with people inside in the 700 block of Hogan shortly before 7:30 a.m.  Rockdale Firemen and Scott & White EMS responded however there were no injuries.  Numerous rescues were underway as rains continued throughout the morning.  Downed trees have played havoc with power lines as power outages were reported across the Central Texas region as the storms dumped more than 10 inches of rain in a 6 hour period.  Numerous roads were closed this morning due to high water.  More rains are expected this afternoon as a flash flood watch remains in effect.

Water across North Travis kept motorists at a slow pace for most of the morning.
