  CYCLIST HURT IN CAMERON ACCIDENT

(CAMERON)  The driver of a motorcycle was seriously hurt in a 2-vehicle accident around 2:30 p.m. Monday on East First Street in front of Hilltop Texaco in Cameron.  Preliminary indications are that a GT Mustang (pictured left) pulled out of the Hilltop parking lot and struck the east-bound motorcycle causing the cycle to slide across the westbound lane coming to rest in the Varsity Motel driveway.  The driver was thrown from the motorcycle and into the westbound lane of Hwy36/US190, however there was no immediate oncoming traffic at the time of the wreck.  Both drivers listed Brenham addresses.  Damage was extensive to the front of the Mustang while the motorcycle was totaled.

The Cameron Fire Rescue unit and Scott & White EMS responded.  The motorcycle driver was transported from the scene by EMS.  No other details were immediately available.  This story will be updated when more information  becomes available.  Cameron Police Officer Jeff Hinijosa investigated the wreck.
