Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Brown meat in large skillet with onion for 10 mins. Stir in flour and chili powder. Cook for 1 more minute. Stir in tomatoes and corn. Bring to simmer and cook 3 mins. Add salt, garlic, and brown sugar- mixing well. Spoon mixture into 9" pie dish. Butter bread and arrange on top of meat mixture, buttered side up. Bread should overlap by about 1/2" to cover mixture completely. Press bread down into meat to make it stick. Bake 25-30 mins. until bread is browned. Makes 4-5 servings. |
