(ROCKDALE) Antique fans and Garage Sale fans will get to come together very soon in Rockdale, as the City has announced the Rockdale Antique Fair and annual Citywide Garage Sale this weekend.
Today through Sunday will include both the annual citywide garage sale and a 2-day antique fair. The overall event is expected to include over 150 sellers and antique dealers. The fair will be from 9AM-5PM at Wolf Park in downtown Rockdale today and Sunday. Maps of the fair site and garage sale locations will be available at the park during the show and at merchants throughout town. CAMERON ISD TO MEET
(CAMERON) Cameron ISD trustees will meet Monday to discuss the Superintendent`s performance goals.
During Monday`s regular meeting, the Board will discuss performance goals for 2013-2014 for their Superintendent, as well as board operating procedures. In other business, trustees will discuss employment of personnel and hear a report on the state accountability system. The Board is also expected to consider an agreement regarding extracurricular status of the 4H organization.
Monday`s regular meeting will be at 7PM in the Board Conference Room next to Yoe High School.
THORNDALE ISD TO MEET
(THORNDALE) Thorndale ISD Board of Trustees will meet Monday in a regular meeting to expenditures and grants.
During their regular meeting Monday, trustees will discuss amending the 2013-14 budget. In addition, the Board will consider entering into a facilities needs assessment. In other business, the Board will discuss transfer students and set a date and time for their October meeting.
Monday`s regular meeting will be at 6:30PM in the Thorndale ISD Board Room.
CAMERON CITY COUNCIL
(Cameron) Cameron City Council will hold a special meeting Monday for a special meeting to receive comments on tax increase.
During Monday`s meeting the Council will hold a public hearing for the purpose of receiving public comments on tax increase. Also on the agenda, the first reading of an ordinance levying ad valorem taxas for the use and support of the Municipal Government of the City for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2013 and terminating September 30, 2014 providing for apportioning each levy for specific purposes; and providing when taxes shall become due and when they should become delinquent if not paid.
Monday`s special meeting will being at 5:30pm at Cameron City Hall.
ROCKDALE COUNCIL TO MEET
(ROCKDALE) Rockdale City Council will meet Monday to discuss a resolution regarding the issuance of bonds.
During their regular meeting Monday, the Council will hear a resolution authorizing the issuance of $330,000 Rockdale Municipal Development District Sales and Use Tax Bonds. In other business, the City will appoint Municipal Development District Board members and discuss a tourism and marketing plan.
Monday`s meeting begins at 5:30PM in Rockdale City Council Chambers.
MILAM CO ROAD WORK
(CAMERON) Texas Department of Transportation has announced their road work schedule for next week in Milam County.
According to Bob Colwell, spokesman for TxDot, crews will work levelup operations this week on multiple area roads. Work will be done Monday on FM485 from US77 to FM979. Tuesday and Wednesday will include operations on FM2027 from FM979 to Falls Co. And Thursday will include work on FM485 from Bell Co. to US77.
(CAMERON) The Cameron Yoemen dominated in all phases Friday night, shutting out Lexington, 47-0.
The Yoemen defense stifled the Eagles, allowing just 165 total yards. The Yoe also capitalized on 2 Lexington turnovers. In addition, the Yoemen scored early and often, opening up a lead and never letting off the gas. Offensively, Cameron`s standout sophomore running back Traion Smith impressed again, running for 153 yards and 3 touchdowns.
The Yoe win ups their record to 2-0, and extends their winning streak to 17 games. The Yoemen now prepare for the annual Battle of the Bell next week in Rockdale.
In other scores, Rockdale fell to Burnet 20 to 9, Waco Connally rebounded with a win over Marlin 42 to 7, Rogers rolled by Academy 55 to 21, Caldwell doubled up Hearne 24 to 12, Rosebud Lott pounded out a win over Clifton 46 to 23, Taylor flew over Brookshire Royal 43 to 6, Temple fell to Westlake 45 to 41, and A&M Consolidated topped Midway 44 to 41.

(Cameron) Yoe High Football Presale Tickets for Battle of the Bell will go on sale this week. They will be availble Monday thru Thursday 8am-4pm and Friday 8am until 1:00 pm at the HS kiosk and JH office. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students. All tickets will be $5 at the gate.

(CAMERON) The Milam County sheriff`s office reported 4 arrests: --Herman Miller Griffith, 22 of Thorndale for 2 counts of Arson intended damage habitat/place of worship, 2 counts of Sexual Assault on a child and 2 counts of Burglary of Habitation. --Ernest Jay Ybarra, 34 of Cameron for Indecency with a child Sexual contact. --Juan Castillo Saucedo, 66 of Cameron for Driving while intoxicated 3rd or more. --Phillip Trent Kirkpatrick, 20 of Cameron for Dealing controlled substance/Marijuana to a minor
There were 2 accidents reported in Rural Milam County. --11:06am, on 190 N of Pettibone, a 1 vehicle accident, no injuries reported. --11:35pm, 2 miles W of Buckholts, a 1 vehicle rollover, no injuries reported.
There were 108 prisoners in the Milam County Jail this morning, including 37 housed for Coryell County and 3 held for Cameron PD.
