(CAMERON) Both the Academy Bumblebees and Lady Bees stayed in the playoff hunt in District 22-2A basketball with wins over the Cameron Yoemen and Lady Yoe on Tuesday. The Lady Bees improved to 8-4 on the year, while the Lady Yoe dropped to 4-8 in district play. Academy`s Lady Bees won big, 48-22, paced by Kelsey Sprinkles, who lead all scorers, with 16 points on the night. Kausion Wells led the Lady Yoe in the losing effort, with 8 points on the night. Meanwhile in boys basketball, Academy stayed in control of 3rd place in the district, with a 52-38 win over the Yoemen. Caleb Hill led the way for the Bees with a 23 point night, while Edgar Luna led a balanced offensive output for the Yoemen, with 8 points. Both the Yoemen and Lady Yoe will be on the road to Lexington Friday to continue their seasons. | |
