(TEMPLE) A former Bell County jailer is now being held in the same jail he worked at following his arrest.

The Bell County Sheriff`s Office said 28-year-old Tommie Rodall was arrested Thursday on a charge of Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity and Money Laundering. On February 5th, investigators discovered during a cell search several contraband items that included a cell phone, chargers, tobacco, and other illicit substances. The Criminal Investigation Division, with help from the District Attorney`s Office and the Organized Crime Unit, delved into the source of that contraband and discovered several individuals involved in a criminal enterprise concerning contraband being delivered and sold within the jail. Authorities said Rodall, who had been a jailer for 4 years, is believed to have smuggled the items into the correctional facility. He was terminated from employment upon his arrest. The DA`s Office delivered his case to the Grand Jury on Wednesday and they returned a true bill against him.
