Texas has a new Secretary of State. The Texas Senate confirmed John
Steen to the post yesterday. Steen is taking over for Hope Andrade who
resigned last November. The San Antonio native will serve as the
state`s chief election officer, chief international protocol officer and
Border Commerce Coordinator. The attorney previously served as
commissioner for both the Department of Public Safety and the Texas
Alcoholic Beverage Commission.
