(BELL CO) Texas Department of Public Safety investigators are seeking the public`s help in finding a car now believed to have been involved in a fatal weekend accident.

Officials had previously been on the lookout for a pickup truck that possibly struck and killed 38-year-old Stephanie Donovan over the weekend on US190 near Heidenheimer.

On Monday, DPS troopers said investigators have now determined that the vehicle that struck Donovan was more likely a 2011-14 dark colored Ford Fiesta. Officials said investigators were working to recover surveillance video from a nearby gas station. Area scrap yards and body shops were also being told to watch for a Fiesta with front end damage.

Investigators believe Donovan was a passenger in a car when she exited the vehicle and began to cross the highway for an unknown reason. As she was crossing the road, she was struck and killed. The driver of the Fiesta did not stop.
