Funeral services have been set for long-time Milam County Extension
Agent, Chris Holcombe. Holcombe died at her home Thursday.
Services
will be held this morning at 10:30 at the First United Methodist Church
in Cameron. Holcombe worked for 35 years in the Milam County Extension
office as the County Agent for Family and Consumer Sciences under the
Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Service. She was awarded the Texas 4H
Meritorious Service Award and was also named the Cameron Chamber of
Commerce Volunteer of the Year in 2010.
After retiring, Chris
volunteered through the First United Methodist Women, Republican Women
of Milam County, Cameron Lions Club, Cameron ISD Foundation, Cameron
Arts & Service League, Friends of the Cameron Public Library, Little
River Basin Master Gardeners, and Cameron ISD Campus Advisory Board.
She was 66.
