(MILAM CO) Heavy rains that have inundated the area in the last 24 hours have caused delays and multiple road closures this morning.
According to the Milam County Sheriff`s Office, roads that have been closed as of this morning include: FM485 west at Elm Creek; US77 north at the Falls-Milam County line; FM437 at CR101; FM2268 at the creek; CR240/Ball Park Road; FM1915 at Big Elm Creek; CR120; CR119; CR147; CR131; and CR116 .
In addition, the Sheriff`s Office noted that there is water over multiple area roads and motorists should proceed with caution. Among those roads: FM485 east at Walker`s Creek; FM486 at CR428 at Alligator Creek; and FM908 from the airport to CR318.
In addition, because of the road closures and high waters, Cameron ISD Superintendent Collin Clark announced this morning that 4 bus routes that run along on the north end of town will be running late. Clark added that though those bus routes are running behind, Cameron ISD will not be delayed in starting this morning.
