MISSING MAN WITH ALZHEIMER`S FOUND

(TEMPLE) An Alzheimer`s patient reported missing Thursday morning was found Thursday afternoon at a local tire shop.

Leroy Williams, 77, was reported missing from his home about 9AM Thursday. Police say he turned up later that afternoon at a Temple tire shop.

Officers located Williams about 3:30PM. He was not hurt. Officials said they thanked the public for their help in locating him.


SWAT TEAM CALLED AFTER SUSPECTED BREAK-IN

(TEMPLE) A man who heard noises in his attack late Thursday called police and ended up with a SWAT team response.

According to Temple Police, the SWAT team was dispatched late Thursday afternoon to a home in the 4000 block of Wagon Trail after a resident arrived home and heard noises in the attic. The man told officers that he kept firearms in the house, leading to the SWAT team call.

Officers said the team searched the home but found no evidence of a break-in.


INMATE JAILED FOR MURDER INDICTED FOR PUNCHING GUARD

(BELTON) A man being held in Bell County Jail on murder charges has been indicted for assaulting a jail guard.

Clifton Montague, 27, was indicted for Assaulting a Public Servant in relation to a November incident in which he punched a prison guard in the face. The guard involved told officers that inmates were being escorted from one area of the jail to a recreation area when Montague and other inmates became irate. Court records indicate that Montague threatened the guard before punching him in the face.

Montague is behind bars in connection to the October 11, 2012 shooting death of Latterance Deshawn Newsome. He was arrested in Killeen a day after the shooting. Investigators were able to determine that Newsome had visited an apartment when he and Montague began to argue, at which point Montague pulled a gun and allegedly shot Newsome to death.


GAS PRICES HOLD STEADY

(Dallas) Prices at the gas pump have been stable so far in the new year.  Triple-A Texas spokesman Doug Shupe says the statewide average dropped just one cent this week to three-16 a gallon.  The national average is at three-32 a gallon this week, up three-cents.  Dallas and Fort Worth are paying the highest average in Texas at three-20 a gallon, which is the same in Dallas and up a penny in Fort Worth.  El Paso drivers are paying the lowest average at two-95, down a penny.  Austin`s average is also down a penny this week to three-16 a gallon.  San Antonio`s average is down a penny to three-13, while Houston drivers are paying two-cents less at three-17 a gallon.


FINAL BUCKHOLTS HEE-HAW SHOW

(BUCKHOLTS) The Buckholts Volunteer Fire Department is preparing to host its last Cotton Pickin` Hee-Haw Show tonight.

The musical and comedy show will take place today at 7PM at the Buckholts SPJST Hall. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. Proceeds go toward truck insurance and other related expenses, along with partial matching funds from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.

Milton Wright and Friends Band will perform before and during the show, with Kenny and Naomi Arnold also bringing their musical talent. The Ladies Auxiliary will be serving concession throughout the show.


HOLCOMBE SCHOLARSHIP FUND

(CAMERON)  Tickets remain on sale for a “Mardi Gras” event to raise money for the Christine Holcombe Memorial Scholarship Fund.  The fund that has been set up in honor of the late Christine Holcombe, an extension agent in Milam County for over 30 years and a volunteer in many area civic organizations whose life long mission was to help young people get a college education.

The “Mardi Gras” event will be held Saturday, Feb. 9 at Simon George Hall, 401 S. Karnes, in Cameron and will start at 6 p.m.  It will include a Cajun food dinner, auctions, door prizes and games for the kids.

Adult tickets are $10 and children under 18 are $5. Tickets may be purchased at the Cameron Chamber of Commerce, The Rockdale Reporter and Rodenbeck Farm & Ranch in Thorndale.  Some of the items donated include a Willie Nelson autographed Telecaster Guitar, rare coins, an “Ultimate Yoemen basket” and much more.  If you can’t attend the event you can still give a donation no matter how big or small online through the facebook page.   Just go to facebook and search for the Christine Holcombe Memorial Scholarship Fund.  For more information check out the facebook page or email cholcombememorial@gmail.com


FALL SPORTS BANQUET

(CAMERON) The Yoe Athletic Department announced they will host their Annual Fall Sports Banquet next week.

The Banquet is set for Monday, January 28th. The meal will be served at 6PM, with the awards ceremony to follow at 7PM. Tickets are $10.


STATE CHAMPIONSHIP NIGHT

(CAMERON) Cameron ISD is set to host Yoe Championship Night this weekend at the Performing Arts Center.

The District and Yoe Athletics invite all of Yoe Nation to celebrate the team`s state championship and first 15-0 season on Saturday, January 26th. The evening will begin at 4PM with a photo and autograph session with players and coaches at Yoe Gym. At 5PM there will be a Yoe Resolution Presentation at the PAC, followed by a showing of the Yoe State Championship Game Win. The evening will close with the school song and a reception.

Yoe Nation is invited to wear maroon and show their Yoe Pride. Fans should bring footballs or other memorabilia to be signed by players and coaches. Fans are also encouraged to bring their cameras for pictures with the Yoemen. The Yoe Booster Club will also be on hand selling State Championship items, such as stadium seats, caps, key chains, t-shirts, posters, and iPhone covers.


YOE HOOPS

(CAMERON)  After both falling to state-ranked teams Tuesday, the Yoe and Lady Yoe basketball teams look to get back on track.

Both teams will try to get back in the win column when they travel to Florence today. Our next broadcast is Tuesday against Academy.

--vehicle struck a deer on FM2116 near Alcoa. No injuries.
--2-vehicle wreck on FM486 at CR207. No injuries.

There were 88 Prisoners in the Milam County Jail this morning, 21 from Coryell County and 1 from Cameron PD.
