A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. followed by a committal service at Greathouse Cemetery. Visitation will take place one hour prior, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Russell was born on March 22, 1961, in Columbia, South Carolina, to parents William E. Entzminger, Sr. and Mary Ella (Swygert) Entzminger.
He was a proud graduate of Academy High School and a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Academy, known for his vibrant personality and deep love of life. Russell found great joy in music, gardening, and nurturing his tree farm. He took pride in his career as a truck driver, working for Wilson Art, Stevens Transport, and Central Freight. Russell cherished life’s simple pleasures, spending time with his beloved dog, Nic, and playing with his nieces and nephews. A true family man, he had a special love for Christmas and remained closely connected to his loved ones through his warm and regular phone calls.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ella Entzminger; brother, William E. Entzminger, Jr.; brother-in-law: Stacy Shelton, and great-niece: Kate Ryan Entzminger.
Russell is survived by father, William E. Entzminger, Sr.; sister, Katherine “Kathy” Shelton; brothers, David Entzminger and wife Cindy, Wade Entzminger and wife Joyce, Michael Entzminger and wife Laina; nieces, Amy Merriman and husband Anthony, Michaela Entzminger, Ginger Davis and husband Tommy; nephews, Jason Entzminger and wife Sarah, Justin Shelton and wife Lindsey, Lance Entzminger; great-nieces and nephews, Morgan, George, and Gracie Merriman, Lolo Faye, Waylon Jay Lusty, Bryce and Braxton Davis, Riley Kay Entzminger, and Alexis, Reed Shelton.
Pallbearers will be the deacons of First Baptist Church of Academy.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Academy Youth Fund.
