FLOODING UPDATE:    At least 132 people have died in floods  160 people are still missing. at least 106 of them in Kerr County

Some flood gates at Buchanan Dam are set to open this afternoon, Lake Buchanan will reach FULL capacity this afternoon for the first time since 2019!   Once that happens, at least two floodgates at Buchanan Dam will open, according to the LCRA.  Water from Lake Buchanan will then spill into Inks Lake.

 

The San Saba River appears to have hit a plateau t 30.1 feet.   Flash flooding and high water levels causing the Lampasas River to surge from 10 to 33 feet and crested at 41 feet.  Evacuations Sunday Kempner and Lampasas as water crossed the roadways.

 (BOERNE) A country superstar is hosting a benefit concert to help those affected by the central Texas flood. On his social media accounts George Strait announced that he’ll be performing in Boerne, Texas, which is located in the hill country close to Kerr County. The concert is scheduled for Sunday July 27th, and will also feature performances by Strait and Vaqueros del Mar will be joined by William Beckmann, Ray Benson, Wade Bowen and others at the event.   The event is limited to 1,000 guests due to the intimate setting.

Donations will be collected by the Del Mar Texas Flood Relief Fund and distributed to families directly affected by the floods.

Tickets and tables, starting at $1,000, are now available for purchase. In a press release, it states that complimentary tickets will be provided to local first responders.

Robert Earl Kean  My hometown, Kerrville, TX, was hit especially hard, and the loss of life there has touched everyone in Kerr County and beyond. He announced a concert benefitting those impacted by the devastating flood in the Hill Country of Texas. The event will take place at Whitewater Amphitheater near New Braunfels, Texas on August 28.     Cody Canada,  will join Keen on the bill. It’s expected to showcase several other major Texas and country artists at Whitewater, a 5,600-capacity outdoor venue adjacent to the Guadalupe River. He wanted to make sure that the musical intent was solid,” and discussed the impact of the flooding on the Texas music scene, along his family’s ties to Camp Mystic.

The Texas country music legend took to social media to thank everyone for the outpouring of support and generosity for all the individuals and families in the Texas Hill Country.

 

Tejano star Shelly Lares announced plans for a benefit concert called “One Stage, One Heart.” The concert will take place from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. Friday, July 18, at the Woodlawn Theatre at 1920 Fredericksburg Road.

Organizers suggested a donation of $50 per person. All proceeds will go toward flood relief efforts.

 

Comedian Ron White announced on social media that all proceeds from his San Antonio show will go toward his Guadalupe Love Fund. He will perform on Aug. 8 at the Majestic Theatre.

In an Instagram video, White said he wants to raise money for fire departments that have lost equipment while responding to the floods.     Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. July 15.
