Kerr County Death :  135 deaths statewide from flooding on July 4,  The death toll in the county officials said many of the missing were reported safe,  3 remain missing.

 

 

(ROCKDALE) MONDAY,  July 21, 2025  5:36pm   Boil Water Notice for All customers residing on Pecos from Brazos to Meadow .  Once the boil water notice is no longer in effect, a notice to customers that rescinds the boil water notice. If you have questions concerning this matter, you may contact Rockdale City Hall  at (512) 446-2511.

Last Night    A Boil Water Notice will be issued later today. 

*****Overnight, 7/24/2025, an 8” main failed near Veteran’s Park.  As a result, the Allday Elevated Tower was drained.   The repairs are being completed this morning.   Full water service should be restored by mid-afternoon.   Once the water is restored, a Boil Water Notice will be issued for this area.

 

(BELTON)****TONIGHT****  Belton Police Department   (Thursday, July 24) TxDOT will fully close S Loop 121 under I-14 in Belton for sign work tonight. Traffic will be affected from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Friday. Remember to watch for crews and guard your speed in work zones.

 

(Wednesday  11am  Bell-Milam-Falls–) Water Supply Corporation.  Boil Water Notice issue to ALL CUSTOMERS Due to Repairs made to a line that was hit if you have questions contact James Marek at 254-697-4016 this affects customer who were without water or low water pressure off FM431.

***(TEXAS)  New laws for schools, Public school districts are now required to enforce a personal device (Phones, Watches  all electrical devices) ban for students during school hours. Gov. Abbott signed HB 1481 into law on Sunday. It requires school district policy to either ban personal devices from campuses entirely or mandate students to lock them away. Jun 24, 2025

Several new Texas school laws have recently taken effect or will soon, including a ban on mobile phones during school hours and a requirement to display the Ten Commandments in classrooms. Additionally, a School Of Choice will launch in late 2026.
Here’s a breakdown:1. Mobile Phone Ban:What it is:A new law mandates that public school districts either ban mobile devices entirely or require students to lock them away during school hours.
  • Enforcement:Schools must implement disciplinary actions for violations, including confiscating devices.
  • Effective:The law is already in effect.
2. Ten Commandments Display: What it is:Senate Bill 10 requires schools to post a specific version of the Ten Commandments in each classroom. Implementation: The display must be at least 11 by 16 inches and can be a poster or framed copy.The law goes into effect on September 1st.
3. School Choice:  What it is:Senate Bill 2 establishes an education savings account program, allowing participating families to use public funds for private school tuition and other education expenses. Launch:The program is slated to launch in late 2026. Funding: Participating families will receive an amount equal to 85% of the per-student funding that public schools receive. Impact: This will allow families to choose private education options with public funding support.

What an incredible day at the Cameron Country Club for our 15th annual fundraiser! This year’s tournament was one for the books, our biggest and best yet!
Over 100 golfers in the morning
Over 50 golfers in the afternoon
Over 60 participants in the night golf
Highest amount of money ever raised in our 15-year history Record-breaking turnout across the board!
Tournament highlights included the thrilling helicopter golf ball drop, live music from The Jams ATX, and an amazing show of community support.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this event possible: Our generous sponsors, the dedicated volunteers, golfers, the Milam County Sheriff’s Office staff, the team at the Cameron Country Club and the many friends and supporters who came together for a great cause.
We truly could not have done it without each one of you. This was our most successful tournament yet, and we are so proud of what we accomplished together for the Brown Santa program.

(WESTPHALIA)  Blood Drive:   The Westphalia Knights of Columbus Council #13902  is sponsoring a blood drive on Sunday, Aug. 3rd at the Westphalia Parish Hall from 7:30am to 11:30am. The council is providing a free pancake and sausage breakfast, starting at 9am to anyone who signs up to give blood, as well as all parishioners of the Church of the Visitation.
