Texas Governor Greg Abbott said on social media  the death toll from the flooding ticked up to 137, and a man and a girl remained missing.

(CAMERON)  When it comes to unwavering dedication to the Angus breed and its future, Bob and Dana McClaren of 44 Farms in Cameron, Texas, stand as excellent examples. Since their first contribution to the Angus Foundation in 2007, the McClaren’s have continually committed to advancing education, youth and research, earning them recognition as Honorary Angus Foundation Inductees during the 2025 National Junior Angus Show in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Since 1909, the Little River bottom near Cameron, Texas, has been home to 44 Farms.

 

 

 

(BOIL WATER NOTICE)  Bell-Milam-Falls Water Supply Corporation issued a Boil Water Notice Thursday  The affected customers of this notice are along State Highway 320 from Westphalia to Lott, customers along FM 431 between Westphalia and Travis, and customers on County Roads 340, 345, 367, 368, 369, 377, 478, 479, 490, 492, and 496.
Flushing will ensue upon restoration of service Boil Water Notice for Community Public Water Systems. Once Boil Water Notice is rescinded a notification will be issued.  If you have questions concerning this matter, you may contact Bell Milam Falls WSC at (254) 697-4016.

(CAMERON)  Cameron ISD Bus Registration
Reminder that any student that intends to ride a bus this school year will need to register for their Bus Pass. All registrations are done online at https://www.cameronisd.net/page/transportation.registration – Please allow at least 72 hours for your registration to be processed. It could be longer in peak times. In order to be processed prior to the first day of school all registrations must be submitted no later than Midnight on Friday, August 8th. Any registrations completed after that date will not be available for the 1st day of school on August 13th.

***(TEXAS)  New laws for schools, Public school districts are now required to enforce a personal device (Phones, Watches  all electrical devices) ban for students during school hours.  It requires school district policy to either ban personal devices from campuses entirely or mandate students to lock them away.

1. Mobile Phone Ban: What it is: A new law mandates that public school districts either ban mobile devices entirely or require students to lock them away during school hours  📴 .

2. Ten Commandments Display: What it is: Senate Bill 10 requires schools to post a specific version of the Ten Commandments in each classroom. Implementation: The display must be at least 11 by 16 inches and can be a poster or framed copy. The law goes into effect on September 1st.

3. School ChoiceWhat it is: Senate Bill 2 establishes an education savings account program, allowing participating families to use public funds for private school tuition and other education expenses. Launch: The program is slated to launch in late 2026. Funding: Participating families will receive an amount equal to 85% of the per-student funding that public schools receive. Impact: This will allow families to choose private education options with public funding support.
