On July 30, 2025, the Court of Criminal Appeals affirmed the conviction of Mark Mason. This means the conviction and sentence will stand and Mark Mason will serve his life sentence.
On January 12, 2023, after a 3-day jury trial, a Milam County Jury found Mark Mason, 51, formerly of Cameron, guilty of First-Degree Felony, Continuous Sexual Abuse of Young Child in Judge John W. Youngblood’s 20th District Court. The jury returned their verdict in less than thirty (30) minutes.
After approximately 1.5 hours, the Milam County Jury returned with a life sentence for Mr. Mason. He will never be eligible for parole.
District Attorney Brian Price prosecuted the State’s case and handled the appeal.
After reviewing the case, the appellate court found no issues in the trial, affirming the conviction and recognizing the fairness and integrity of the legal process.
