(ROCKDALE) Due to the loss of system pressure in a section of the high-pressure plane of the city’s distribution system, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has required the City of Rockdale (PWS1660002) public water system to issue a Boil Water Notice. All customers residing in the area between O’Kelley Ave and Skyles and between Rockdale Rd to Cady. If you have questions concerning this matter, you may contact Rockdale City Hall at (512) 446-2511.

(CAMERON) Cameron Police Department, around 7:30pm at the intersection of 4th and Travis resulting in the death of the driver, anyone with information contact the Cameron Police Department. The accident is under investigation

(CAMERON) Friday afternoon Cameron Police Department responded to Mike’s Convenience store located at 1003 West 4th Street for aggravated robbery. The investigation produced facts and evidence identified Frederick Parker, 46 of Cameron, as the suspect that allegedly robbed the store at gunpoint. Parker was learned to be on active parole for aggravated robbery. Cameron Police investigators secured arrest warrants for Parker for the aggravated robbery and unlawful possesion of a firearm by felon. On Sept 12, 2025 Parker, who is also a suspect in multiple robberies out of the Killeen Police Department. On September 13, 2025, despite Parker’s efforts to evade arrest, Parker was taken into custody. The involvement and cooperation of the Citizens of Cameron were crucial in making a positive identification and learning that led to the arrest of Parker. The Cameron Police Department also thanks the Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers and Texas Rangers as well as the Killeen Police Department for their assistance in the investigation.

(ROCKDALE) Rockdale High School Students Nationally Recognized by the College Board

Rockdale High School is celebrating seven students who have earned academic honors through the College Board’s 2025 National Recognition Program. The program highlights high-achieving students across the country and helps them stand out on college and scholarship applications.

This year’s honorees are Detinee Bluford, Alex Cooper, Jesus Luna Herrera, Hannah McKie, Steven
Mora, Eduardo Rivera, and Zaniya Stewart. These students earned recognition through their strong
performance on College Board assessments, including the PSAT and AP exams, as well as by
maintaining high grade point averages.

To qualify for this honor, students must demonstrate exceptional academic achievement by maintaining
at least a B+ average, earning top scores on PSAT or AP exams, and ranking among the top 10% of
test takers in their high school or state.

“We’re incredibly proud of these seven students,” said RHS Principal Wendy Mahan. “Their recognition
is more than a medal or certificate, it’s a reflection of their commitment to academics and a reminder to
our community that excellence is happening right here at Rockdale High School.”

(ROCKDALE) SATURDAY, September 20, 2025. . The Little River Basin Master Gardeners are inviting the public to join them at their butterfly garden at the Rockdale Veterans Park. The event will coincide with a ribbon-cutting by the City of Rockdale and Rockdale Rotary Club for renovations at the park, and will include activities sponsored by LRBMGA for the public to participate.

The Little River Basin Master Gardeners, celebrating 20 years in Milam County, invite the public to a Butterfly Bash in Rockdale. Come celebrate these colorful pollinators in the butterfly garden at the park. The free program will be held Saturday, September 20, 10AM – noon, at Veterans Park, 1900 Mistletoe Lane.

Lots of fun activities for all ages will be sponsored by the Master Gardeners. A ribbon-cutting ceremony by the City of Rockdale and the Rockdale Rotary Club will commemorate recent park renovations, starting at 10AM. The public is invited to attend and all are welcome.

(SEATON) The Seaton Church 1st Annual Picnic Fundraiser, SUNDAY, September 21, 2025,
11 am. to 3 pm. at Flag Hall, 411 FM 964, Burlington, Tx. 76519 (new location). The menu of pulled pork, sausage, beans, potato salad, coleslaw, bread, dessert and tea, coffee or water.
