(MILAM) US Bridge closure will be temporarily closed overnight at the bridge over Sandy Creek on THURSDAY, Dec. 18, 2025, weather permitting. This closure affects the stretch of US 77 between Cameron and Rockdale. The closure will begin at 8 p.m. and the roadway will reopen Friday Morning . The closure is necessary to allow crews to perform maintenance under the bridge. Drivers should plan alternate routes during the closure.
(HARKER HEIGHT) (KWTX) – The body of a woman was recovered from the pond at Carl Levin Park on December 16. Police were dispatched to investigate the reported drowning at about 7:20 p.m. in the 400 block of Millers Crossing. Police did not provide many details but said this is an active investigation.
“There is no threat to the safety of the community,” police said. The identity of the victim is being withheld pending next of kin notification. Police urge anyone with information about this death to contact the Harker Heights Police Department at (254) 953-5400.
