Milano ISD Announces Lone Finalist for Superintendent of Schools
Milano, Texas – The Milano Independent School District Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the selection of Kevin Terry as the Lone Finalist for the position of Superintendent of Schools. This decision comes as we move forward following the unexpected passing of our former Superintendent, Dr. Elisabeth Luevanos, due to a tragic accident. Her dedication to our students and community has left a lasting impact, and we honor her memory as we embark on this new chapter. Mr. Terry, who has worked for the district for 26 years, has served as Acting Superintendent since Dr. Luevanos’s accident while continuing to perform the functions of his previous position as Director of Operations.
Throughout his 26-year tenure with Milano ISD, Mr. Terry has served in a variety of roles, including classroom teacher, Director of Technology, and most recently, Director of Operations. His long-standing service reflects a deep commitment and dedication to the students, staff, and community of Milano ISD.
Mr. Terry holds a Master of Education in Instructional Technology and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from West Texas A&M University. With his extensive experience, strong vision, and proven leadership, Milano ISD is confident that Mr. Terry will continue to guide the district toward sustained success and innovation.

With his extensive experience and passion for education, we are confident that he will lead our schools into a bright future.”
Mr. Terry expressed gratitude for the selection, stating, “I am deeply honored to be named the district’s Lone Finalist. I look forward to working collaboratively with the Board, staff, students, and community to build on the strong foundation established by Dr. Luevanos and to continue to create a challenging yet supportive environment for our students to learn and grow.”
In accordance with state law, there will be a 21-day waiting period before the school board can officially hire Mr. Terry. The board anticipates holding a board meeting on January 8, 2026, to make that decision.
We appreciate the continued support and understanding of our families, staff, and community during this transitional period. Together, let us honor the legacy of Dr. Luevanos while looking ahead with optimism under the leadership of Mr. Terry.
