Margaret Popisil Vrazel January 7, 2026

Margaret Pospisil Vrazel, 85 of Westphalia and formerly of Yarrellton. She died Sunday, January 4, 2026, in a Temple hospital. Funeral Services will be 10:00 am Thursday, January 8, 2026 at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Marak. Burial will follow in the Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7:00 pm Wednesday January 7, 2026 with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 pm at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home.

She was born on October 24, 1940 to Frank and Annie (Cmerek) Pospisil in Corn Hill. She graduated from Jarrell High School on May 25, 1959.

Margaret married the love of her life, Lawrence Vrazel, Jr. on May 21, 1960 at Holy Trinity Church in Corn Hill, by the Rev. George Doskocil. They met at the SPJST hall in Holland where Lawrence played drums in the Vrazel’s polka band.

She was a member of Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Marak as well as the Altar Society and a member of K.J.Z.T. Society #21.

Margaret was a homemaker and had also worked at the Cameron Dress Factory and at Green’s Landscaping Nursery. She volunteered for Scott and White sewing lap blankets and dolls for the children’s hospital.

Margaret loved to sew, quilt and do embroidery. Her and her husband loved to go to church picnics and polka dances all over Texas. She enjoyed the outdoors and helped her husband with the farm and cattle. For the past couple of years, she enjoyed going on cruises to the Caribbean. Her Catholic faith was foremost in her heart praying the rosary daily. Margaret treasured her children, grandsons, great-granddaughter and most of all, her husband of 57 years. She dearly loved her cat “Orange” who was her faithful companion.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, parents and her brother Frank Pospisil, Jr.

Margaret leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughters Elizabeth Strehler and husband Randall of Troy and Patricia Hoelscher and husband Mark of Westphalia as well as grandson Matthew Hoelscher and wife Cortney and great-granddaughter Miller of Westphalia and grandson Kyle Hoelscher of Westphalia and sister Victoria Domel of Taylor.

Memorials may be made to the Sts. Cyril & Methodius Cemetery Fund.
