National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day

Today we honor the men and women who choose service, even when it comes at a personal cost
and the families who stand beside them, holding the home front together through long shifts, silent worries, and constant sacrifice.

We see the officers who serve.
We see the spouses, partners, children, and loved ones who serve right alongside them.

At Shine the Blue Light, we believe appreciation means more than words.
It means support.
It means care.
It means making sure no officer and no family stands watch alone.

To our law enforcement officers and their families:
Thank you. Today and always. 💙

(GATESVILLE)    A Gatesville ISD student has been named the recipient of a statewide scholarship from the University Interscholastic League (UIL).

Gatesville ISD announced that Gatesville High School senior Paisley Wells was awarded the UIL Impactful Leader Scholarship on the field of AT&T Stadium during the 4A-D2 state championship football game in December.

Candidates for the scholarship must be nominated by a teacher or coach, according to the district, and can be nominated for reasons such as:

  • Leading by example on and off the field/stage/etc.
  • Strengthening team spirit and culture
  • Taking pride in their school and community
  • Being active in team fundraisers and community service

Gatesville ISD said Wells is a four-time All-American Varsity Cheer Captain, Varsity Choir Co-President and a two-time All-State Choir member. She was also reportedly Homecoming Queen and participated in PALs, 4-H livestock shows, track and National Honor Society.
