(MILAM) BURN BAN IS IN EFFECT 2/5/2025 effective 5:00 p.m. (1700) this afternoon, Milam County is officially under a countywide burn ban until further notice.
Now that the recent cold and wet weather has passed, conditions across Milam County are becoming increasingly dry. After consultation with the Milam County Fire Marshal and several of our local fire chiefs, they have requested and recommended that a countywide burn ban be reinstated to reduce the risk of wildfires and protect our residents, property, and first responders.
Outdoor burning of any kind is prohibited unless specifically authorized under state law or by approved exception. These measures are necessary to help prevent accidental fires during elevated fire risk conditions.

As most already know the outdoor siren works as we hear it everyday at noon and recently with a water outage. The noon siren is programmed to automatically alert at 12:00pm.
