Milam County Sheriff’s Office
Blaine Wall Initiative
The Milam County Sheriff’s Office announces the launch of the Blaine Wall Initiative, a targeted traffic enforcement effort on FM 485.
This initiative is named in memory of Blaine, who tragically lost his life on FM 485 due to the actions of an erratic and dangerous driver. His death serves as a sobering reminder of the very real dangers posed by reckless and unsafe driving behaviors.
FM 485 has become a growing concern for residents, deputies, and emergency responders. Excessive speeds, unsafe passing, distracted driving, and other hazardous violations have made this roadway increasingly dangerous for the traveling public.
Effective immediately, the Milam County Sheriff’s Office will intensify traffic enforcement along FM 485. Deputies will operate under a zero-tolerance enforcement strategy. Drivers observed violating traffic laws should expect to be stopped and cited.
The goal of the Blaine Wall Initiative is simple:
-Protect the lives of motorists
-Reduce preventable crashes and injuries
-Deter reckless and dangerous driving
-Promote responsible driving behavior
Traffic laws exist to safeguard everyone on the road. Adherence is not optional, and the consequences of ignoring those laws can be devastating.
The Milam County Sheriff’s Office urges all drivers to slow down, stay alert, and drive responsibly. No family should have to endure the loss that inspired this initiative.
