Texas Independence Day No photo description available.  Monday ,March 2nd 

is the celebration of the adoption of the Texas Declaration of Independence. With this document, signed by 59 delegates, settlers in Mexican Texas officially declared independence from Mexico and created the Republic of Texas in 1836- 190th anniversary of the signing of the Texas Declaration of Independence

March 1-      32 men from Gonzales, the only reinforcements the Alamo Defenders  who came to help the Alamo Defenders in 1836.

March 6-  Dawn at the Alamo  the events leading up to the morning hour of the Alamo battle Mexican General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna recaptured the town on March 6, 1836, after a thirteen-day siege; the Mexican army suffered an estimated 600 casualties. Everyone on the official list of 189 Texan defenders was killed, but historians continue to debate the number of defenders inside the Alamo.

Texas remained independent from 1836 until 1845 when the legislature voted for annexation to the United States. The annexation was soon followed by the Mexican-American War, a two-year conflict resolved by the 1848 Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo.

(MILAM)  The Milam Appraisal District will be closed Monday, March 2nd in observance of Texas Independence Day. We will resume regular business on Tuesday, March 3rd.

(BARTLETT)  Bartlett ISD District-Wide Early Release Next week – 2:05 PM Due to the planned city-wide water outages, Bartlett ISD will dismiss early at 2:05 PM on the following dates: Wednesday, March 4; Thursday, March 5; and Friday, March 6.

BARTLETT CITY-WIDE WATER SERVICE INTERRUPTION NOTICE    
The City of Bartlett will conduct scheduled water system improvements on the following dates:
 Monday, March 2, 2026         8:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.
 Wednesday, March 4, 2026   1:00 P.M. – 5:00 P.M.
 Thursday, March 5, 2026       1:00 P.M. – 5:00 P.M.
 All three project days will have a CITY-WIDE impact.
These temporary shutoffs are necessary to complete critical improvements to the City’s water system that will help reduce future unscheduled outages and strengthen system reliability.
