Megan Moroney has reached a major career high as her third studio album, Cloud 9, opens at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The project moved 147,000 equivalent album units in its first week, including an impressive 78,000 in traditional sales — a standout figure in today’s streaming-driven market (per Billboard).

The achievement marks Moroney’s first time atop the all-genre chart and makes her one of the few women in country music to accomplish the feat in the past decade, following Beyoncé’s 2024 chart-topper Cowboy Carter. It also represents the strongest opening week for a female country artist in nearly two years and the biggest total debut for any country act so far in 2026.

Beyond leading the Billboard 200, Cloud 9 debuted at No. 1 on Top Album Sales and No. 2 on Top Streaming Albums. The album’s momentum was sparked by the hit single “6 Months Later,” along with fan favorites such as “Beautiful Things,” “Who Hurt You?” and “Wish I Didn’t.” Guest appearances from Kacey Musgraves and Ed Sheeran add to the project’s broad appeal.

The milestone builds on the steady rise of Moroney’s previous releases. Her 2024 album Am I Okay? peaked at No. 9, while her 2023 debut Lucky reached No. 38. Moroney exclaimed: “Not to be cliche, but I’m on cloud 9! I have to give credit to my fans, they’re the best in the world. To have them embrace an album like this is a dream come true. I can’t wait till we’re screaming these songs together on The Cloud 9 Tour!”

In support of the new album, Moroney will be launching her ‘Cloud 9’ tour. The 49-date world tour kicks-off May 29th at Schottenstein Center in Columbus, OH, with dates through October at some of the biggest arenas in North America, Europe, and the UK — including New York City’s Barclays Center, Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, United Center in Chicago, and Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.
