Armed Forces Day MONDAY May 18th It is a day to pay tribute to men and women who serve the United States’ armed forces. The first Armed Forces Day was celebrated on Saturday, May 20, 1950. The theme for that day was “Teamed for Defense”, which expressed the unification of all military forces under one government department.

Memorial Day May 25th a federal holiday in which we honor and mourn members of the military who have passed away while serving in the United States Armed Forces. On this day, we pay tribute to those who gave their lives while protecting and serving their nation.

(CAMERON) Yesterday was YOE DAY Cameron ISD NO school and No School TODAY May 15 .
The Yoe Day tradition with a ceremony honoring Caroline and Charles H. Yoe. This particular day has a long and rich history.
Charles had a great love for the city of Cameron and its people. It was the desire of Charles and his wife Caroline to give to the city a fitting and worthy tribute of their love for Cameron.
This expression of love took the form of a new high school building in Cameron, which later became known as C.H. Yoe High School.
“Yoe Day.” The Yoe High School Student Council along with students from Cameron Junior High, Cameron Elementary, and Ben Milam Elementary conducted the annual Yoe Day Ceremony. Everyone is asked to met at the Performing Arts Center for breakfast and the procession to the grave side will depart from the PAC parking lot to the Cemetery.

Please note that if you are mailing a protest it has to be post marked by May 15th. Due to a new U.S. Postal Service rule, time-sensitive mail may be affected, talk to your post master to make sure the deadline is not missed.
