(BELTON ) 5/21 Belton Police Department update-  Two men from Troy were arrested in connection with an armed robbery that resulted in a death. The #FBI’s Central Texas Violent Crimes Task Force—comprised of the Temple Police Department, Milam County Sheriff’s office, Belton Police Department, among other law enforcement partners—continues to crush violent crime and protect the communities we serve.

(THORNDALE) Due to the weather  and field conditions Thorndale ISD has moved graduation to 
 SATURDAY at 7:30 and will be held at the Taylor ISD Event Center Auditorium at 3101 N. Main Street.

(ROCKDALE) celebrate the Rockdale High School Class of 2026 this Friday! At this time, we are continuing to monitor the weather closely and are hopeful that graduation can be held at Tiger Stadium as planned. Our goal is to celebrate our graduates outdoors if at all possible.

A final decision regarding the graduation location will be made THIS morning, May 22, during graduation practice.
In the event that weather requires us to move indoors, graduation will be held in the RHS Competition Gym. Due to capacity limitations, the indoor ceremony would become a ticketed event.

Memorial Day Monday May 25th  a federal holiday in which we honor and mourn members of the military who have passed away while serving in the United States Armed Forces. On this day, we pay tribute to those who gave their lives while protecting and serving their nation.

(CAMERON)  MONDAY  The American Legion Edwin Hardy Post #9 will host Memorial Day Services at 10:00am in Cameron, 1600 Ledbetter Park will have a ceremony to honor the American men and women who died in the service of the country. Special guest will be Dr. Rick Morgan an Army veteran and Air Force flight surgeon during Desert Shield and executive Director of the Morgan Military Aviation Museum at the Cameron Airport. Music will be provided by the Community in Concert Band.

(CAMERON)  MONDAY  11am-1pm Downtown Cameron -The Milam County Historical Museum will also host a reception in honor of veterans following the ceremony from 11AM-1PM AT 112 W 1st Street. The community is invited to come and visit while enjoying light refreshments and browsing the museum exhibits.

Cameron Chamber of Commerce office closed, Milam County Appraisal Office will be closed, Banks and financial offices and  government offices will be closed and some business. Post Oak Savannah Groundwater Conservation District office will be closed in Milano. Rogers City Hall closed Monday.

Bobcat of Temple In observance of Memorial Day, we will be closed on Monday, May 25th as we honor and remember the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation’s freedom.

(ROCKDALE) 5/19/26  Rockdale Police Department weekly report Officers responded to 348 calls for service 102 were 911 calls. there were 12 calls for the Fire Department- 1 Gause / 6 Rockdale/ 2 Thorndale /3 Milano. One felony arrest.

(MILAM) 2026 Rockdale Fair Association scholarship winners 2026 RFA Scholarship Recipients

$6,750in scholarships:

$2750 to Hannah Bakken -Hannah is the daughter of Buck & Marie Bakken. She graduated from Milano High School and plans to attend Texas A&M, majoring in Education. Hannah also receives the Janell Vogelpohl,  Sandy Neuendoff and Cindy Vogelpohl in Memory of Bill Vogelpohl, past RFA president.

$2000 to Adison Dach  – Adison is the daughter of Michael & Kimberly Dach. She graduated from C. H. Yoe High School and plans to attend Texas A&M, majoring in Animal Science.

$2000 to Keira Hagedorn – Keira is the daughter of Tracey & Eric David. She graduated from Thorndale High School and plans to attend Tarleton State University, majoring in Animal Science.
For more than 10 years, the Rockdale Fair Assn has awarded over $10,000 in scholarships to Milam county high school seniors, pursuing a college education
