15 th Annual Central Texas Stocker Cattle Program
Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, McLennan County along with Extension Beef and
Forage Committee’s in Bell, Bosque, Coryell, Falls, Hill, Limestone and McLennan Counties
will host the 15th Annual Central Texas Stocker Cattle Program on Wednesday, June 25
th from 8:00 am- 2:30 pm at the West Auction Barn, 206451 I-35 N Frontage Rd. West, TX 76691.
The morning will start with breakfast provided by AgTrust Farm Credit. Dr. Henry Hilscher and
Zach Zoeller, Livestock Nutrition Center will discuss Transition, Background, Supplemental
Feeding of Stockers; Brian Uptmore, Auctioneer and Manager, West Livestock Auction will
provide a Live Cattle Demonstration while speaking on how to Produce a #1 Calf; Dr. Sonja
Swiger, Professor and Extension Entomology Specialist will lead a discussion on Managing
External Parasites on Cattle; Dr. Tom Hairgrove, Professor and Extension Veterinary Specialist
will present on Diagnosing Stocker Cattle Wrecks; Matt Kubala, ADT Technical Inspector,
Texas Animal Health Commission, will explain Animal Disease Traceability and give a New
World Screwworm Update; Dr. David Anderson, Professor & Extension Economist will end the
presentations with a Cattle Market Update.
We will conclude the program with Sponsor
Presentations and Door Prize drawings.
Registration will begin at 7:30 am. The cost for this program is $20.00. Two (2) IPM CEU’s will
be offered. Breakfast and a steak lunch are included. Please RSVP before June 20th by
