(TEMPLE) (KWTX) – Firefighters in Temple have been relocated to another station in town after mold was found growing in one of the fire houses.

For the next couple of weeks, the crew at fire station two will operate out of a different station after the mold was discovered. While the mold isn’t as dangerous as it could be, the city and department are taking extra precautions.

“They found it through an air sample and the source of the mold remains uncertain. But we took it very seriously and made the decision to move crews from station two and they’re temporarily operating out of station one,” says Megan Price, a spokesperson for the city.

This comes just months before an already planned remodel of station two is set to start and now the city is adding remedies to the mold, for now and the future, into their design plans
