a List of flood relief donors continue to grow: Joanna Gaines and her partners have raised more than $1 million to aid flood victims in the Texas Hill Country.
At the Silos in Waco, donations were welcomed that led to what she described as “truckloads of essential supplies” given to the Salvation Army to be distributed to families in need across the region.
Gaines expressed gratitude to her partner, including Target, Loloi Rugs, United Talent Agency, UBS, Comerica Bank, JPMorgan Chase, the John and Julie Schmidt Family Foundation, Crate & Barrel, Ariat, and to the wider community for their support.

(MILAM) Milano traffic stop nets major meth bust ,o ne man is charged following a traffic stop and major drug bust last month.
The Milam County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Interdiction Unit conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle on TX36 south of Milano on June 25th. During a search of the suspect vehicle, deputies located 2 kilograms of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $14,000. Due to the ongoing nature of this investigation, the name of the male subject arrested is being withheld and no further information will be released at this time. As the investigation continues, there is believed to be no danger to the public.

All backpacks will be given away on August 2nd to local area school children.
(CALDWELL) Milano Post Oak Savannah Groundwater Conservation District will host its 11th Annual Burleson & Milam Counties Groundwater Summitt on THURSDAY August 7, at the Caldwell Civic Center . The event is free to attend and offers landowners and residents the chance to hear directly from the people shaping water policy and planning across Texas.
This year’s agenda includes a legislative panel titled “Water Policy Changes: What You Need to Know from the Capitol,” featuring Adam Foster, Director of the Texas Alliance of Groundwater Districts; Sarah Kirkle, Director of Policy and Legislative Affairs at the Texas Water Conservation Association; and Robby Cook, former State Representative and legislative consultant. Together, they’ll discuss this year’s legislative session and what recent changes could mean for local water planning, funding, and district operations. Also speaking is Tony Smith, Associate Vice President at Carollo Engineers and one of the technical leads for the Region G water plan. Smith will walk attendees through where we are in the State Water Planning process and how landowners and local voices can shape what comes next.
