(ROCKDALE)   Today   Highland Ave. between Rockdale Rd. and Hunter Dr. will be closed July 17, 2025 until at least noon for a water main repair.

 

 

FLOODING UPDATE:    At least 134 people have died in floods, Crews are continuing to search for the 101 people still missing.

a List of  flood relief donors continue to grow:  Joanna Gaines and her partners have raised more than $1 million to aid flood victims in the Texas Hill Country.

At the Silos in Waco, donations were welcomed that led to what she described as “truckloads of essential supplies” given to the Salvation Army to be distributed to families in need across the region.

Gaines expressed gratitude to her partner, including Target, Loloi Rugs, United Talent Agency, UBS, Comerica Bank, JPMorgan Chase, the John and Julie Schmidt Family Foundation, Crate & Barrel, Ariat, and to the wider community for their support.

(LIVESTREAM CONCERT ) . Country singer and Waco native Pat Green had a livestream benefit concert on Facebook, with all proceeds helping the victims of the recent floods across the Texas Hill Country.
Green wrote in the announcement post that the performance at Globe Life Field last night , “no audience, just music and a mission to help families devastated by the Texas floods- including my own.”
Along with Green himself, the show had performers like Miranda Lambert, Jon Pardi, Dierks Bentley, Corey Kent, Casey Donahew, Josh Abbott, Eli Young Band, Joe Nichols, Kaitlin Butts, Ty Myers, Kevin Fowler, Bob Schneider, and more.

One accident reported yesterday,   2-vehicle collision in the 9000 block of north FM487 has the right lane blocked it was reopened about 3:25  yesterday afternoon

 

 

(ROCKDALE) Rockdale Police Department weekly report Officers responded to 144   calls for service 62 calls   were 911 calls.

 

(MILAM)  Milano traffic stop nets major meth bust ,o ne man is charged following a traffic stop and major drug bust last month.

The Milam County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Interdiction Unit conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle on TX36 south of Milano on June 25th. During a search of the suspect vehicle, deputies located 2 kilograms of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $14,000. Due to the ongoing nature of this investigation, the name of the male subject arrested is being withheld and no further information will be released at this time. As the investigation continues, there is believed to be no danger to the public.
