(CAMERON) Cameron Police Department responded to shots fires early on Sunday morning hours August 10th in the area of 71/2 street and MLK Ave. Upon arrival Officers encountered several victims with gunshot wounds among a very large crowd on individual. Cameron PD, with assistance of Milam County Sheriffs office, Texas Parks and Wildlife Game Wardens, Texas Department of Public Safety and the Rockdale Police Department rendered aid to victims and secured the scene. It is not belief anyone suffered life threatening injuries at this time. Anyone with information regarding the incident is encouraged to contact the Cameron Police department.

(HUTTO) The intersection of Carl Stern Dr. and Chris Kelly Blvd. will be closed on Monday, August 11, from 9:00- 11:00 PM for crews to paint the crosswalks. A detour will be in place, so please follow the signs and plan for delays.

(Milam Community Theater) Due to a variety of unfortunate circumstances, performances of Milam Community Theater’s summer production, Neil Simon’s “I Ought to be in Pictures,” has been moved back two weeks. The show will play one weekend only, Friday Aug. 15, Saturday 16 and Sunday 17, at the Williams Event Center in Cameron.

The heart-warming comedy features Samara Garrett as Libby, a headstrong young woman from Brooklyn who impulsively hitchhiked to Hollywood to visit her long-estranged screenwriter father, Herb.

Herb, a cynical, unemployed screenwriter with commitment issues, is played by newcomer James Pettyjohn, who is in an on again, off again relationship with Steffy, played by Kelita Thomas. a make-up artist who wants more of a commitment. MCT veteran Richard Stone directs.

Tickets for the show are available at the door or in advance under the “box office” tab on the MCT website, milamcommunitytheater.com. If you’ve already bought your tickets, they will be good for the new dates.

Curtain for the Friday and Saturday show, Aug. 15 and 16, is at 7 p.m. Curtain Sunday, Aug. 17, show at 2 p.m.

(MILANO) The Little River Basin Master Gardeners, celebrating 20 years in Milam County, invite the public to a program on organic gardening in Central Texas. The free program will be held WEDNESDAY, August 20, at 10AM, at the Milano Civic Center, 120 West Ave. E, Milano.

Laura Gonzales, Little River Basin Master Gardener, will teach six basic elements of organic gardening that can be used with any size or type of garden. Laura will also guide attendees in making an essential oil body bug spray to take home – along with other organic gardening goodies.

(ROSEBUD-LOTT) The dedication of Baine Stadium at Cougar Field in Rosebud-Lott ISD has been set for 7:00 PM on Friday, September 5th. Work is currently being done on the stadium entrance and they hope to be done by next week. Everyone is invited to attend the dedication ceremony.

The Cougars sill host the Thrall Tigers in their home opener that night in a Non-District match up with a 7:30PM Kick-Off.
