(MILAM)  November 5, 2025  Milam County District Attorney T. Brian Price in a Special Press release:

Kody Lee Land, 40, of New Braunfels and formerly of Rockdale, was sentenced to a 20-year sentence and a 5-year sentence to run consecutively by Judge John W. Youngblood in the 20^th Judicial District Court on Tuesday afternoon.

Land previously pleaded guilty to 2^nd Degree Felony, Sexual Performance of a Child and 3^rd Degree Felony, Possession of Child Porn on August 19, 2025.

After a presentence investigation and punishment hearing he was sentenced by 20^th District Judge John W. Youngblood who assessed twenty (20) years on the 2^nd Degree Felony, Sexual Performance of a Child and five (5) years on the 3^rd Degree Possession of Child Porn. The State had previously filed Motions asking the Court to “stack” the cases so that Mr. Land will be required to serve one sentence after the other rather than the prison sentences running concurrently. The Judge granted the State’s request to run the sentences consecutively, meaning the defendant is sentenced to a total of twenty-five (25) years. Additionally, the defendant will be required to register as a sex offender for life.

(ROCKDALE)   The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has notified the City of Rockdale that the section of Offield Avenue (South Wilcox) at the intersection of FM 487 will be closed until further notice due to a bridge failure.
