(CAMERON) Accident UPDATE: Date: 1/7/2026 Time: 7:50 P.M. Location: US 190 /.1 mile west of CR 215A County: Milam
Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers responded to a report of a fatal crash involving a bicyclist and a pickup truck on US 190. A 2006 Chevrolet pickup truck was traveling westbound on US 190 when it struck a bicyclist travelling in the westbound travel lane.
The bicyclist was identified as 51-year-old Nakita Kim Smith of Gause, Texas.
Investigating Troopers determined the driver of the pickup truck did not see the bicyclist due to low-light conditions, resulting in the collision. Smith was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Chevrolet remained at the scene and was cooperative with the investigation. The crash investigation remains ongoing.
