POST OAK SAVANNAH GROUNDWATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT LAUNCHES LOCAL TEXAS RUNS ON WATER CAMPAIGN

MILANO, TEXAS — The Post Oak Savannah Groundwater Conservation District has become an official partner of the educational water awareness campaign Texas Runs on Water® with the launch of the local Post Oak Savannah Runs on Water campaign, highlighting the many ways our community is built on water. A media rollout throughout Burleson and Milam counties features billboards, posters, postcards, and digital displays in local businesses ranging from restaurants to gas stations.

Post Oak Savannah Groundwater Conservation District is excited to become an official partner of the Texas Runs on Water campaign,” said Gary Westbrook, General Manager of the Post Oak Savannah GCD. “This campaign is all about celebrating our pride of placeidentity, and connecting the things we love about our community to the water it takes to keep it running. We’re thrilled to share that story with our residents and invite them to be a part of the conversation.”

Post Oak Savannah GCD has been serving Burleson and Milam Counties since 2002. Since then, the district has grown its programs with a focus on education, outreach, data collection, and water well testing services. This campaign intends to expand on educational efforts already established by the district. Recognizing that each region in Texas is unique, the Texas Runs on Water® campaign is designed as an umbrella concept that allows communities to develop localized materials tailored to local water priorities.

Texas Water Foundation believes that every Texan plays an important role in Texas’ water future. We pay attention to things we care about, and we invest in the things we value. Our connection to water, and how we value it, begins at the local level,” said Sarah Schlessinger, the CEO of Texas Water Foundation. “That’s why we created a campaign that could be adapted by region, audience, and water use. Our hope is that our partners use the campaign as a vehicle to inspire awareness for the way water shapes their community and leads to that community investing in their water future.”
