(MILAM) Milam County Sheriffs office responded to 2 incidents yesterday which closed a road for several hours yesterday An 18-wheeler high centered on the railroad has TX36 closed at CR206. And 18-wheeler rollover has the roadway closed in the 7100 block of FM1915.

Sheriffs office has received reports of a scam circulating by text message that includes an image of what appears to be a court document. These messages are fraudulent and are not sent by our office or any legitimate court. Do not respond, click links, or provide any personal information.

If you receive one of these messages, delete it and report it as spam.

(ROCKDALE) Rockdale Police Department weekly report Officers responded to 300 calls for service 90 were 911 calls there were 8 calls for the fire departments- 1 Milano, 2 Thorndale and 5 for Rockdale. there were 3 accidents and 1 felony arrest reported.

(MILAM) TODAY April 2 – Statewide Emergency Alert Test Texas will conduct a statewide test of emergency alert systems on April 2 between 10:00 AM and 12:30 PM.

You may receive a test alert on your phone and/or hear outdoor warning sirens depending on the systems used by your local jurisdiction and/or the jurisdiction you are in at the time of the test.

Milam County will activate its emergency notification system to cellphones through our emergency notification system during this time. Because multiple jurisdictions may participate, you could receive more than one test alert during the testing window. This is only a test. No emergency action is required. Testing helps ensure emergency alerts work when they are needed most.

(THORNDALE) Baseball The Bulldogs had back to back nights of district games.

On Tuesday, they traveled to Holland and defeated the Hornets 14-1.

On Wednesday night, they hosted Rosebud-Lott in a match up of the top two teams in the district. Thorndale completed the season sweep of the Cougars with a 4-2 victory.
