Fort Hood Woman Critically Injured

(CAMERON)  A 19 year old Fort Hood woman remained unresponsive after suffering incapacitating injuries in a 2 vehicle accident North of Cameron Monday afternoon.  Patrina Jackson was westbound on FM 485, and failed to yeild right of way at the Highway intersection.  Her 95 Honda Civic (pictured left) was struck broadside in the driver's side by a 1990 Mercury Cougar driven by Kimberly Pruitt, 35 of Burlington.  Jackson was transported by Medivac Helicopter to Scott & White Hospital in Temple.  Ms. Pruitt suffered minor injuries, and was taken by Scott & White EMS to Central Texas Hospital.   It took Volunteer Firemen several minutes to free Ms. Jackson from the car.  The broadside collision and subsequent Medivac landing, resulted in traffic disruptions to both north and south bound lanes for about an hour.  Investigating Trooper Michael Nix placed the time of the accident at 5:20 p.m.

Emergency Personnel work to stabilize Ms. Jackson before her transport by Medivac to Scott & White Hospital.

The broadside collision resulted in extensive driver's side damage to the Jackson vehicle.

Volunteer Firemen work to free Ms. Jackson from her vehicle.

State Trooper Michael Nix investigated the wreck.

Jackson was transported by Medivac to Scott & White Hospital in Temple.  She is listed late tonight (Monday) as unresponsive and in critical condition.
