Escaped Federal Prisoner Nabbed Today Near Cameron

(CAMERON)  An escaped federal prisoner living "on the lamb" in Milam County for the past 5 years, was captured today by U. S. Marshalls as he left his residence on County Road 241, southeast of Cameron.  Dennis Lee Sells, 52, was arrested without incident on US 190/TX 36 about four miles east of Cameron.  Sells, who has lived under the identity of Michael Griffith, had escaped from an Oklahoma Federal Penitentiary approximately 11 years ago, with approximately 9 years remaining on his sentence.  Another inmate, that escaped with Sells, was arrested about 18 months ago.    Sells was serving time for Manufacture of Methamphetamines.

Sells had been living under the assumed name near Cameron for some 5 years.  His fiance of two years was unaware of Sells true identity according to Milam County Sheriff officials.

Following his arrest around 8:30 this morning, Sells was transported to the Milam County Jail where he was temporarily detained, and then transported to Austin where he is expected to be arraigned before the federal magistrate.

When initially stopped by the Marshalls, Sells admitted who he was.  Milam County Sheriff's Investigators Greg Kouba and J. Beathard assisted in the arrest.
