Proposed Rockdale Relief Loop

 

PROPOSED ALIGNMENT

Figure 1 shows the approximate location of the preferred alternative. The route will tie into US 79 west of town and traverse north, paralleling the existing "H-Frame" power poles. The Route intersects FM 908, FM 487, and US 77 and then bends to the south to tie-in with US 79 east of town near Dry Sandy Creek.

PROJECT DEVELOPMENT CONTINUES

Now that a corridor has been determined, TxDOT will continue with the next stages of the project. The project development process will include: a route study, field surveys, an environmental assessment, preliminary design, right-of-way acquisition, final design, and construction. The entire process is expected to take 7 to 10 years.
