Magnolia House For Sale by Owner

(CAMERON) One of Cameron's most notable landmarks and tourist attractions is on the market. The elegant Magnolia House at 502 North Travis in Cameron is for sale by owners John and LaGayle Sosnowy. The price tag? $669,000. The price includes the entire city block, the home and its contents of antiques, and the caretaker's quarters.

The home was purchased by the Sosnowys in 1986 and after a 2 1/2 year restoration, the home took on it's original 1895 appearance. The home was open for tours for years following the restoration, establishing a tourism attraction for Cameron. The home was also available for rent for special occasions such as weddings, receptions, and parties. The Sosnowys operated an investment management firm out of the caretaker's quarters, but that office was closed last month, and the business was merged with a firm in Michigan.

The Magnolia House is recognized as a historical site by the Texas Historical Commission, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Sites.
